Acid / Ammonia Environmental Detection Indicators

Detect and respond to sources of acidic and alkaline gases in your storage and display environments with passive environment indicators. If an indicator has completely changed colour within 4 days, the concentration of the pollutant is higher than desired for a storage or display area/material.

The indicators require no power and can be placed in storage and display environments to monitor levels of harmful gases that may otherwise be undetectable without large mechanical equipment. The compact indicator discs change colour in response to levels of pollutants (organic acids or ammonia) even at low levels, see images for example.

The discs are calibrated to change colour completely once a limit value concentration of each pollutant has been reached, the shorter the time period, the higher the concentration in the environment. Multiple indicators could reveal a source of pollutant where differences are noted between the rate of change between indicators in measured locations.

The use of the optional holder shows only the central measurement area, allowing faster recognition of full transformation. The holder also allows monitoring of a micro environment to test a surface in isolation (e.g. painted shelving, wooden drawer) or vertical surface (e.g. as wall, shelving) and can be secured in place if required.

  • Easy to read and use, no need for large mechanical air measurement equipment
  • Ideal for storage and display areas, discrete design
  • Small enough to be placed into drawers and boxes, only 28mm dia. x 8mm
  • Optional holder allows indicators to isolate a specific area/surface, e.g. a wooden shelf, painted wall, drawer to test for pollutants
