Hake Brushes

Japanese Hake brushes ideal for a variety of conservation uses, from cleaning to repairs.

Flat, wide, soft, white goat hair brushes. Gentle enough for delicate Japanese papers and tissues. Used for dusting, washing, sizing, mounting, gluing or spreading any thin media.

Plain wooden handles, no metal ferrule to rust.

Please note: Some initial bristle loss is expected with natural hair brushes, this can be reduced by combing and manipulating the brush head before use. Simple steps can help maintain your brush's life; Wash with water after use (hot water is also possible if the glue has hardened, after washing, soak in water for about 30 minutes, drain thoroughly and hang with bristles facing down to dry thoroughly.
